“Strong” is a documentary about Arab women who expressed through street art, dance and sport.
This movie came from a desire to breakdown stereotypes about Arab women.
It contains testimony from women who speak of their art, their daily lives and give their perception of feminism. They are principally from Lebanon but also Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Tunisia.

Film Director Bio – Salim Saab
Former rap artist, movie director, journalist and radio host, Salim Saab is a real Hip Hop activist. Also known under the nickname Royal S, this 37-year-old French-Lebanese has a rich professional background.
Salim is a radio host and journalist for the international and Pan Arab Radio station Monte Carlo Doualiya where he receives artists from all over the Arab world (rappers and also pop artists), he is also the host and producer of the rap show Old School / New School on the Parisian radio Aligre FM. Salim is the author of three rap albums released in the mid-2000s and freelance journalist for several magazines ( The Source, Tracklist, Courrier de L’Atlas, Afrique/Asie).
AWAN, which is about to enter its 5th edition, showcases the work of contemporary Arab women artists in the UK, Europe and beyond, providing opportunities for artists and audiences to celebrate, be informed and network whilst exposing new audiences to the work of emerging and established artists. www.awan.org.uk
