Singer-songwriter Tania Saleh, pianist Faraj Suleiman and MC Bu Kolthoum join a line-up of Palestinian musicians to celebrate the life and music of singer and activist Rim Banna.
After a ten-year struggle with breast cancer, Palestinian singer Rim Banna’s life was cut short in March 2018. Now, a year on from her passing, a collection of her peers and admirers celebrate her music and message playing re-orchestrated versions of her songs in new collaborations and movingly intimate solo performances.
Mixing pop, poetry and traditional Arabic sounds, Rim Banna became a voice for peace and equality, collaborating with the likes of jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft, Norwegian choir Skruk and Arabic electronica collective Checkpoint 303 in a career spanning twelve records. Tania Saleh is a Lebanese artist, singer and songwriter with an international following; Faraj Suleiman is a Palestinian pianist, composer and leader of the Faraj Suleiman Quartet; Bu Kolthoum is a Syrian MC and hip hop producer.
